Cynthia first ride on a horse was at the
age of 18 months. A white Quarter Horse to be exact.
With her mother's help her interest in horses never slowed down.
4-H and open showing, the breed did not
matter as long as she could ride it.
At 9 years of age her 14 hands paint mare Sissy took her to many 4-H awards and blue
ribbons in open shows.
Sissy,
who also taught sister Meghann and brother Eli along with a string of other youth how to ride, stayed with Cynthia
until her death at the age of 30+.
Her first Morgan was a 3/4 morgan mare named Witches Brew. And that began our journey down the
path with the wonderful Morgan Horse.
Cynthia begain training
at the age of 16 on Connie Westerholm's, Quarter/draft pinto mare, Cindy. The 2 yr old mare
was big, kind and easy . Ground training and saddle training had very few problems. Yes the mare sent her
flying once, thank god mom was not there to see it.
Her expertise as a trainer, instructor helped develope Excalibur.
We went from a 4 stall barn without a tack room
to a 30 stall barn with arena.
Her students
ribbons and awards in 4-H and Open are extensive.
Her equitation, pleasure riders on the Morgan Region 8 Curcuit are all well known.
